Maura L. Lynch
Maura L. Lynch joined RLG Law in November of 2010, expanding her practice from exclusively Criminal Law to include Family Law and Juvenile Law. While working at Rismiller Law, Ms. Lynch has assisted clients in addressing complex custody issues. She helps clients cooperate with the Department of Health and Human Services and the Montgomery County Police Department. Ms. Lynch is able to draw upon her experience working with the Department of Health and Human Services and the criminal justice system to help her clients achieve optimal results.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Lynch worked for the Office of the State’s Attorney in Montgomery County Maryland. As a prosecutor, she was a member of the Family Violence Team, the Community Prosecution Team, Silver Spring Felony Prosecution Team as well as the District Court and Juvenile Teams. In her role as an Assistant State’s Attorney, Ms. Lynch tried approximately 30 jury trials, and countless trials before a judge.
Ms. Lynch assisted with projects in Silver Spring, including abating the nuisance of the Days Inn and the Quebec Terrace area. Ms. Lynch was co-chair of the executive committee of the Weed and Seed program, a program focusing on crime reduction in the New Hampshire Avenue area of Silver Spring. The focus of the program was to galvanize communities to combat crime by cooperating with law enforcement.
Before her work with the State’s Attorney’s Office of Montgomery County, Maryland, Ms. Lynch worked as an Assistant Public Defender in Montgomery County for six years. Her case load was diverse and ranged in complexity from public nuisance misdemeanors to child abuse cases, homicides and sexual assault matters. Throughout her six years in the Office of the Public Defender, Ms. Lynch participated in approximately 50 jury trials and innumerable bench trials. From 1990 to 1995, she worked for the Office of the Public Defender in Prince George’s County Maryland. While there, Ms. Lynch practiced in District Court, Juvenile Court and Circuit Court and her case load ranged in complexity from incarcerable traffic offenses to serious felonies. She also assisted parents who were charged with neglecting their children, and guided them through the reunification process.
Ms. Lynch is a graduate of Loyola College of Baltimore and received her Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Baltimore Law School.
Ms. Lynch was a member of the Executive Committee of the Montgomery County Bar Association and an active member of the American Inns of Court. She was on the Family Justice Center Advisory Board and is currently spearheading a project to provide legal services to the clients of the Family Justice Center. Previously, she served as Co-Chair of the Juvenile Law Section of the Montgomery County Bar Association. Ms. Lynch is active in Community of Concern, an organization that works with adolescents and their parents to combat the use of alcohol and drugs and speaks frequently at local high schools on alcohol and drug laws.
